Removing Water Spots<\/h2>\n

Water spots occur when water and another contaminant, like soap, mix together. When the water evaporates, it leaves a spot on your windshield, many spots can make it difficult to see out of your car. While water spots can be tricky to get rid of, there are a couple of methods you can use to make it easier.<\/p>\n

One way is with vinegar. Vinegar has a lot of acid in it, which is great for breaking down and dissolving whatever is in the water spot. Start by mixing a solution of half vinegar and uncontaminated water (bottle or distilled will work), and spraying the mixture on the areas where there are water spots. You can add more vinegar if you find you need a stronger solution. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes, and then wipe off with a clean cloth. You can repeat this if necessary until all the water spots are gone. You can also substitute the vinegar for lemon juice. It is also very acidic, which will help break down the materials in the water spots.<\/p>\n

Mixing vinegar and baking soda is also a good way to remove water spots. Start by adding the two together to make a paste; the paste will start to bubble when the vinegar reacts with the baking soda. You can either wait for the bubbling to stop, or apply to paste while it is still bubbling directly on the water spots. Allow the paste to sit for a couple of minutes, and then scrub the water spots with a sponge. Once \u00a0you’re done scrubbing, wash the paste away with water. You can add more mixture if the spots are particularly difficult to remove.<\/p>\n

Another method is by using \u00a0toothpaste on the water spots. This might sound odd, but toothpaste is made to remove build-up, and it works fairly well at removing water spots. To use, mix toothpaste and water together until they create a create a mixture that will be easy to spread. Apply the mixture to the water spots and let it sit for a few minutes, then carefully scrub it off with a sponge and water. Once you\u2019ve taken the paste off, clean the glass with either glass cleaner or water and make sure that it gets dried so that the spots do form again.<\/p>\n
